"Sun to Earth", Fused Glass Bowl with Stand #541, Red Crackle Texture with Black Design, Multicolor Accents

The design in this artwork is based on a beautiful and expressive native American symbol. The symbol is open to interpretation but draws a viewer’s thoughts to the sun and its multidirectional rays. The symbol is embellished with color enhancements to create further visual interest. The background of many of the artist's pieces, including this one, is a crackled finish on a single color base glass.  Crackled glass is created by a special process through the use of glass powders, which makes crevices and cracks appear by manipulating a layer of contrasting color glass powder. This process happens in the first steps of creating the piece, and in subsequent processes and firings, the other design elements are added. The piece is food safe and is numbered and hand signed by the artist.
